Even though there’s no device that can perform and add to your life like the iPhone, or let’s say, iOS devices in general, some people might take a stand to switch to another mobile phone system. In all cases, if you’ve recently decided to replace your iPhone device and switch to an Android, Blackberry or any other cell phone, we know you
might be having a problem with receiving messages from other iPhone users and
you don’t even
know why. Although it’s a sad thing you don’t have the amazing features and options iOS devices offer to its users, we won’t forget any problem you face after you’ve switched to any other device.
Let’s first know how the problem occurs when an iPhone user sends an SMS to an ex-iPhone user. Simply, when an iPhone user sends an SMS to your new non-iPhone device, it’s used that you have an iPhone device and so sends any SMS to you as an iMessage, which is only available in iPhone devices. Thus, your phone device doesn’t recognize that and you, as a result, don’t find any SMS sent to you.
Now let’s fix this problem with the following steps brought to us by Alphonsusjude, a member in Apple’s discussion forum:
- Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
- Log in if not already logged in.
- Click on “edit products”
- Click on the “x” to the right of the product.
- Click “unregister”
That’s it! Now you can receive SMS from your iUsers friends and family members with no problem whatsoever.
