iPhone Tips and Tricks #4 Notification Center Part 2

Today we will continue explaining how to use Notification Center on iPhone running iOS 5. In Part one we have talked about Notifications in the lock screen and other benefits on the Notification Center. Let’s see what also we can do with this new feature.

Notification Center Tab:

The Small Striped Bar, Notification Center

It is just a simple feature, if you are in a full-screen app (when the status bar is not shown), sliding your finger from the top of the screen downwards will show a small stripped bar. To open the Notification Center press that bar and slide your finger downwards as you do when displaying the Notification Center normally. This is a minor, though a real handy feature because if it wasn’t the you would be often interrupted by opening the Notification Center accidentally. This feature also works if you are in landscape mode.

Notification Center Settings

A pleasant thing which Apple has done in the Notification Center is making it configurable from the Settings app. There are a few settings that you could configure in the Notification Center which makes using it comfortable to you and this differs from a person to the other.

One of the thing you could configure in the Notification Center settings is sorting the application; you can sort it either “By Time” or ”Manually” and most of the people normally sort it “By Time” to get the latest notifications first. You can also decide which apps are to be shown in the notification center and which are not. Moreover, you can control the number of recent items which are to be displayed in the notification center. The settings allows you to decide the “Alert Style” by choosing from None, Banner (the animation which comes from the top of the screen not to interrupt you) or Alert (the normal popping up screen). In addition, you can decide whether to show the Badge App Icon (which indicates the number of notifications in this app) or not, whether to Show Preview. Furthermore, you can decide how many times it is going to Repeat Alert. Finally, you could decide whether you want the notifications to be shown in the lock screen or not.   By this we have mentioned every single detail about the control Notification CenterStay tuned for the upcoming post on our iPhone Tips and Tricks.

Not on iOS 5 yet? If yes, go now and update to iOS 5.0.1 to get this awesome feature and much more. Also you can jailbreak 5.0.1 untethered easily, just follow our guide. We are waiting for your question about the Notification Center via comments below.
