Nokia launches smartphone 808 PureView which boasts a whopping 41-megapixel camera

Featuring a 4-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display, the smartphone packs a 1.3 GHz single core mobile processor

Nokia has announced the successor of its successful N8 smartphone, named Nokia 808 Pure View, at the on-going Mobile World Congress. The Nokia 808 PureView is expected to be available for 450 Euros (Rs 29,750 approx.) in second quarter of this year in Europe.

The new Nokia 808 PureView smartphone has made its debut with a humongous 41 megapixel camera with PureView Pro imaging technology. It features a 4-inch Amoled ClearBack display that has a 2.5 D curved glass made using the Corning Gorilla Glass technology.

This Nokia smartphone features maximum thickness of 18 mm at the camera module portion and houses a single-core 1.3 GHz mobile processor with 512 MB RAM. Nokia has not disclosed the details of the processor and the graphics chip used as yet. By default the smartphone comes with 16 GB on-board storage and can support up to 48 GB micro SD card.

Nokia has added a big 41 megapixel Carl Zeiss image sensor with Xenon's automatic fill flash. Bearing the f/2.8 aperture, the 41 megapixel camera promises 7728x5354 resolution image in 16:9 format. With the new PureView Pro imaging technology the company has managed to use a technique of over-sampling for crystal-clear and noise-less 5 megapixel image. The superb imaging capability is further aided by a GPU that uses a special algorithm which combines seven different pixel in to a one better pixel. Clearly, users will not have to carry around any point and shoot cameras to get good quality pictures.

The camera also supports up to 4x digital zoom without compromising on the quality. Of course, it allows capturing full 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second with up to 3x Zoom while for the 720p HD resolution one can go up to 6x zoom.

Nokia 808 PureView will come with Nokia Belle feature pack 1 and also feature Dolby Mobile Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback. Better audio has been promised but the phone doesn't support high-quality lossless file formats such as FLAC or WavPack and limits the performance of MP3 audio files to up to 320 kbps only. Of course, uses would be able to use AAC, eAAC and eAAC+ file formats for audio.

Nokia has packed a 1400 mAh battery which obviously appears to be much less against the Android OS based monstrous smartphones available today. Nokia 808 PureView promises 11 hours of battery life on EDGE and 6.5 hours of battery life on 3G networks.

While the 41 megapixel camera grabs the attention, this smartphone also offers a secondary camera that offers 640x480 pixel resolution video. Also the company has used a different processor than its usual ARM11 architecture based one which will directly impact the battery life. Hence, anything above 1500 mAh battery would make this phone last longer.

Set out to be available in White, Red and Black colours, we can expect this smartphone to hit Indian Market in late second half of this year for a price above Rs 32,000.

he new smartphone, which was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, is expected to launch in Europe in May, The Telegraph reports.

With 41 MP, the phone is able to shoot images that Nokia claims can be printed in "poster size".

Files, however, condense four or five pixels into one, and Nokia claims they are smaller than equivalent products from rivals.

A Carl Zeiss lens shoots in continuous focus HD video, at 1080p.

Mary McDowell, the firm's executive vice president for mobile phones, said the company's engineers had been working on the product "for years".

She said it was "natural" to assume that its technology would be used in other Nokia products in the future.

McDowell added that while the device was larger than its rivals, it was still sized to fit in pockets, rather than replace a full-size camera.

According to the report, the device uses a 1.3GHz processor, comes with 16GB of storage and runs a 4" screen at 360 x 640, which is below HD resolution.

iTweakStore A Cydia Alternative Coming Soon

In the past we have seen many Cydia alternatives such as Rock, Icy, Installer. None have lasted as long as Cydia, as it prevailed as the main installer for majority of the lifetime of jailbreaking. A new installer iTweakStore hopes to change that. Coming soon it will offer an new place to install and browse tweaks for any jailbroken device. Most likely it will meet its fate within months of release, but nothing for certain. Personally, I liked rock more than Cydia and was mad that it was bought out. For people feeling the same way this might be a new hope. Not much is known now, other than the preview on their webpage.

Top 5 Ios winterboard Themes by hackerajax www.iphoneindya.com

In My Opinion, I believe that these are the best 5 looking WinterBoard themes in no particular order.

Before I start telling you how good these themes are in order for you to use them
1. Your phone has to be jailbroken
2. Install WinterBoard through Cydia

If you can figure those things out, you’ll more than likely be able to figure the rest out.

Tenuis

What I like most about this theme besides the look, is that it has A LOT of icons for WinterBoard. Hmm, lets say around 2500 (wow..). Obviously I can’t review much because it all comes down to personal preference, but I just enjoy the simple colors, not to kiddish not too ugly, just a little bit better than average.

Suave

This is my all time favorite. It’s colorful, simple, and the icons are very well made and easy to navigate. Of course the clock widget and the temperature are seperate, but it looks like with this theme. Man, I want this theme now, going to get it. This theme to me is the Lamborghini of cars.

Matte Nano

The thing about this theme is that it looks a bit similar to the next theme that I’m about to show you. I mean it has the nice matte finish and all, but it feels like it’s trying to one up the illumine theme. Icons are a bit small, but hey everyone has there own opinions, these are mine.

 Illumine

Who would have guessed this was next? Anyway, I like this theme, but it would be the last one to be chosen out of the best, if you can follow that. Just like Tenuis, this theme has 2500+ icons. Not that you would probably use them all since it will take you till the iPhone 5 to come out, but hey more the merrier right? No, sometimes too much of something is bad. To finish off being a hater I just didn’t like these icons, but hey I have 2500 more right? Right.

Glasklart

Last, but not least, Glasklart. I mean talk about simple, it’s so simple, transparent, and boring that I like it. But I got bored of this, but hey I mean there are a lot of icons for this theme. I mean a lot… Like, 5100+ a lot.

3. MultiIcon Mover App

This is a very practical and for sure a must have Cydia app for iOS 5, more than that in my opinion MultiIcon Mover App should be integrated in iOS itself. Why? Well because when you move apps in iOS 5 you have to do it one by one, but with the help of this great app you can move multiple icons, thus saving yourself time.

4. BiteSMS App

If you are a text-heavy user than i strongly recommend BiteSMS, as it is one of the best iOS 5 Cydia app of this kind. We all know that the default SMS app on iPhone is quite limited and boring. With BiteSMS you get a lot of new features like passcode lock, signature, quick compose/reply and more.

5. IntellyScreenX

I guess that the top iOS 5 Cydia apps wouldn’t be complete without IntellyScreeX. This is definitely a must have Cydia app for iOS 5 in my opinion. This little tweak you pretty much know everything that happens in your iDevice without ever needing to Slide to Unlock. IntellyScreenX is very useful if you are driving and want to find out what’s happening with only a quick look at your home-screen.

Deck – Upcoming Jailbreak Tweak Adds Hotbar To iOS Springboard

Since the A5 untethered jailbreak release last month, many jailbreak tweaks have been developed; some of them are for free in Cydia’s repos and some are not.

Developer SBCoders has created an awesome upcoming jailbreak tweak coming this March to Cydia that allows you add a hotbar to your SpringBoard and allows you to access apps, system functions and more from your home screen. It called “Deck”.

It has 2 lists, the primary functions list and custom functions list; the primary functions list has many shortcuts like power options shortcuts like Reboot, Lock and Respring and a Siri shortcut. It also contains a shortcut to compose SMS or e-mail, or even to compose tweets right from the hotbar. Plus you can load your music list and launch camera from Deck. You also have the option to make your own customized list, add apps shortcuts and much much more.

It’s very simple and easy to use and allows you to control your iPhone easily.

It’s still in beta version and not available for public release yet, it’s only for developers now and will come to cydia store soon, expected this March for $0.99 or $1.99. Once it released will let you know.

Of course as we all know, it requires a jailbroken iOS device running iOS 5 or more.

What do you think about it?

SpeakEvent: Your iPhone Push Notification Will Come Alive With Voice [Jailbreak Tweak]

Well today we have got for you a new and awesome jailbreak tweak called “SpeakEvent” and it will makes you to love your iPhone push notifications…

When I saw this tweak on Cydia store I got amazed that there is such a beautiful tweak like this available in the Cydia store that makes your push notification alive with voice so that no more boring things, today you will be able to see your iPhone talking to you..

Huawei at MWC: High-End Announcements in Processors and Smartphones

Huawei came to MWC with something to prove. Their press conference was initially met with quiet anticipation, but the announcements the Chinese manufacturer made have whetted the appetite of the tech press. There were three major announcements. First, the debut of Huawei’s K3 processor that comes in both quad-core and dual-core variants. Second, the company announced the Ascend  D series of smartphones, three models launched alongside the new moniker, and they will make up the top-end of Huawei’s smartphone lineup. Finally, the company briefly teased the high-end MediaPad 10 FHD, a quad-core, ten-inch tablet that sports a 1080p screen.

The Ascend D series phones all utilize Huawei’s new k3 chip. The flagship, the Ascend D quad has a beefy 4.5-inch display, sporting a 720p resolution. As you would expect the quad uses the quad-core variant of the K3 processor, it is clocked at 1.5GHz. Dolby Digital 5.1 surround technology is onboard and compliments the 1080p video capabilities of the Quad’s 8MP camera sensor. The high powered phone comes with 1800mAh battery to keep things charged.

The Quad is flanked by two stablemates. The Ascend D quad XL is identical to the normal quad, but shoves in a 2500mAh battery at the cost of some added weight and thickness. The other is the Ascend D1, a version of the same phone with the dual-core K3 processor instead of the quad-core.

iBlank – Create and Delete Blank Icons

Available In: Cydia

Price: Free

Ok, iBlank has been out for some time now however, it has been a while since I have done a review of it. With all the iNav inspired themes lately, I thought it would be good to do another review of iBlank since it has had some updates since the last time I wrote about it. Most iNav themes seem to install blank icons or web clips when you install/activate the theme. Well, last night, I was settings up a slightly tedious iNav theme (which I will do a review of soon) that did not install blank icon automatically so, I had to use the iBlank application. iBlank allows you to create blank icons. You can create 1 to 16 blank icons at a time. If you need more than 16 icons you can choose 16, wait for them to be created, choose 16 again, wait for them to be created and so on until you have as many as you need. What I really like about iBlank is that you can also quickly delete all your blank icons at once! If you create blank icons (they are technically web clips) using iBlank you can either delete them individually in “wiggle” mode or all at once using the iBlank application.

This makes setting -up and changing those iNav themes much faster and easier. If you find that you still have blank icons on your SpringBoard that were not deleted using iBlank, check out THIS guide on how to manually delete them.

Google Chrome

23. Stuffit Expander

Stuffit Expander solves the woes of unzipping and compressing files. While Mac holds a tool that will do the very same, Stuffit will cover several files that your Mac would have trouble with. One tool included in Stuffit is the ability to search for viruses within the file you plan to unzip or compress. It may not be the coolest app around, but it does the job!

Stuffit Expander

22. Sophos

Sure, the Mac might be less susceptible to viruses, trojans, malware, worms, etc. Honestly, how long do you think that will last? Sophos is an anti-virus program for the Mac and is free! It works quietly in the background just in case a virus seeps through the Apple framework. Like what my folks would always say, “Better safe than sorry!”

Sophos

21. Growl

Running a tight schedule will prevent you from opening clients and emails to check for updates; that’s why we have Growl. 19. Watts

I wish that I would have learned about Watts a long time ago. Watts will tell you exactly when you need to keep your battery charged and when you should run your battery down. Most people don’t realize that you could permanently damage your battery if you continue to keep it charged. This will result in your battery becoming overcharged and will no longer hold a charge. The only way you can fix this issue is by buying a brand new battery; Watts, however, will prevent that from happening.

Watts

18. OpenOffice

Audacity

16. Boxee Online

Usually most networks will host their new television episodes on the network’s online website. I honestly rarely watch programs on TV, as I much rather watch the latest shows and episodes on the corresponding website. Boxee Online does that very same thing, but instead of searching for the latest episodes yourself, it will do that for you. Similar to Hulu.com, Boxee will find the shows, advertise whats available, and in return it will take you to the show’s website.

Boxee Online
