Is Apple Fighting Non-iPhone 4S iOS Devices Running Siri?

Well well well, look at this bad news for non-iPhone 4S users! When Apple released the iPhone 4S, it came with its popular assistant, Siri. Most of iPhone 4S users bought the newly released devices to get Siri and try it but what about those who couldn’t get the iPhone 4S? They actually tried to get it with jailbreak.

iPhone hacker Grant Paul better known as chpwn in the jailbreak community released a jailbreak tweak called Spire to legally port Siri on iPhone 4 and other non-iPhone 4S devices. However, you’ll need to get a Siri proxy server to be able to talk to Siri.

The bad news we’re bringing today comes from several non-iPhone 4S users. It looks like Apple has changed its Siri system by adding a new code that caused problems for those who ported Siri on non-iPhone 4S users.

Apple has actually added SiriActivationToken to the mix which caused the issues reported. However, there’s currently a fix for that!

You can fix this issue by deleting com.apple.assistant.plist file located in the var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ which causes the issue.

So will this become another game of cat and mouse for Apple, just like in jailbreaking?
