Apple iPanel Is What The Company Might Call It's Rumored TV Set

For long it has been rumored that Apple is working on a full fledged television set. Steve Jobs reportedly told his biographer that he had finally uncovered the secret behind a perfect television. Now certain analysts believe that Apple is indeed going to release a full TV, but they'll probably call it the iPanel.

Peter Misek of Jefferies believes that the prospect of a brand new television from Apple may drive the already exorbitantly priced Apple stock up. He has updated his Apple stock estimate to $800 a piece, at this price Apple will continue to be the world's most valuable publicly traded company.
We now believe the iTV could be called 'iPanel' as it is far more than a TV; it is a display, gaming center, media hub, computer, home automator, etc. Also, Apple would likely have difficulty getting naming rights from the UK TV network ITV.

A lot of rumors have been floating around regarding Apple's television set. Foxconn's recent $800 million investment in Sharp is also being linked to this product. Other rumors come from various sources in China with connections in the supply chain, these sources claim to have seen parts that are going in to the production of Apple's television, or what might just end up being called the iPanel.

Misek further believes that Apple will price the iPanel around $1250 mark. Regardless of his position as an analyst, nothing can be said for sure about an Apple product until and unless the company itself reveals details. However if these reports and rumors are true, then Apple just might launch iPanel by the end of 2012.
