Whoever decides to own an iOS device and not use their Mail apps such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and even social networking like Facebook and Twitter, has seriously lost a huge help and amazing features from their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad device. Finishing your work, connecting with friends and family, and even just checking your Mail messages has never been easier with Apple’s iOS devices. However, there’s always a downside to everything, and in this topic, the downside hit Gmail.
Gmail users on iOS devices must have noticed an annoying problem when they delete any unwanted email message from their iOS device. It simply wouldn’t go trashed! Yes, delete an email message at your Gmail account and you won’t find it in the trash folder, instead it heads to the archive folder which is quite annoying and overcrowds your mail with unwanted email messages along with memory usage.
Today we have a solution, from Google, to this problem for Gmail users who’ve been annoyed by such issue through using the “Delete Email Trash” feature in Google Sync and if you’re one of the lucky people, please follow these easy-to-do steps.
How To Trash Your Gmail Messages From iPhone, iPad and iPod touch:
1) Setup your Gmail account as a Microsoft Exchange account
2) Head to m.google.com/sync
3) Here you should see a list of your iOS devices that are configured to use Gmail
4) Tap on the relevant iOS device.
5) Tap to select the option to Enable “Delete Email as Trash”.
6) Tap on the save button
You’re done and now if you try to delete any email message on your Gmail account, you’ll find it heading directly to the Trash folder where you had just succeeded to get rid of it entirely once and for all.
Remember:
Microsoft Exchange account gives you the advantage of having Google Sync which allows you to do the trashing job along with the fact that you instantly receive any email message that’s sent to you rather than waiting for a specific time like how the regular Gmail account does.
