  • Step 1: plug your iPhone device to your computer

  • Step 2: cancel the initial sync that will begin

  • Step 3: on the left hand side there is a column. Select your iPhone which is below the heading devices.

  • Step 4: your device should be in your main panel at the moment. Select the info tab

  • Step 5: from the three option that are appearing on your screen select contacts

  • Step 6: check the box next to Sync Address Book Contacts

  • Step 7: select either “All Contacts” or “Selected groups”( if you have already grouped some of your contacts on your iPhone previously)

  • Step 8: you now can choose between either syncing over your “Yahoo!” or “Google” contacts over to your device. When you do a standard sync it will automatically back up your contacts to iTunes.
